BAND BIO:

Frank Gallo and Andrew Tuzhilin created Rolie Polie Guacamole in late 2006. In 2007 they played at the "Green Meadow Festival" opening for Tom Chapin. Their first full length CD was recorded in Nj at Clearcut Recording and released in May of 2008. The self titled album has 11 original songs and one rocking cover, "This Land Is Your Land" sung by Jean Rohe. Jean's voice appears through out the album. Other favorites include "Rolie Polie Guacamole" , The "Museum Of Natural History" and "Carpenter Paul". Christian McCarthy plays drums, and Jordan Simms piano and organ. Franks parents Kate Vereau and Lou Gallo make vocal guest appearances'. Elisa Guzman Pemjean, sings Rolie Polie Guacamole in Spanish. The album artwork was done by Miriam and Robert Rayevskey. After completion of the first CD it was released in Providence and Brooklyn. Frank and Andrew took to the road in ahe summer of 2008 playing in Va, Penn, Ny, and Ri. After the summer Andrew moved to Brooklyn. Through out the fall Frank and Andrew developed new songs for the second Lp and prepared material for their own music class. They rocked Lou Gallo's "I'm Home" CD release pajama party. The director of the Prospect YMCA enjoyed the show and decided to hire Frank and Andrew to do their music class at the Y. The Vanderbilt Y did the same. In January 2009 Frank and Andrew launced their own musement (music and movement) class. Working with local business at Gumbo, Zora, & Still Hip. It was also held at the Prospect Park and Vanderbilt YMCA's. The class is for children 0-5 and uses: shakers, balls , scarves, books, puppets, and imagination, to get kids up and moving to the beat. For a slightly less hands on experience Frank and Andrew also play weekly Family dinner and sing-a-longs at Perch Cafe in Park Slope and Vox Pop in Ditmas Park. While playing to the wonderful Brooklyn home crowd and teaching to produce the second album. Frank and Andrew began recording in the Winter/Spring of 09' Time For Hummus. The effect of the musment class comes out in the interactive nature of the album. In songs such as: Red Light Green Light, Bird Bellyful, Wake Up Shake Up, Apples, and Time For Hummus. The same cast returned of the second record Frank, Andrew, Christian, Jean, along with some new friends. Jay Rodriguez added Flute and Sax. Idalja Temmer and Laura Talon recorded the drum tracks. The rest of the record was made in Nj at Clearcut Recording with Max Caselnova. It was finished in early 2010. On March 20, 2010 in Park Slope the band rocked the Time For Hummus CD release party. The first book Sing With Me, illustrated by (Jen Gaudiomonte), and the bands first music video Rolie Polie Guacamole (Miriam Rayevsky) were also premiered. The band played a few other shows in early 10' at the Bell House and Jalopy Theater. The summer of 2010 saw some big outdoor shows in Brooklyn there was huge turnout for the Ft. Greene Park show, JJ Byrne/Washington Park concert series was also a great string of shows. Frank and Andrew hit the road playing, NYC, NJ, MA, RI. The last show of the summer was at the Evolve Fest in Nj. September brought RPG's second performance at "The Atlantic Antic" @ Gumbo in Boerum Hill. October had the mole's traveling north to NY State and Mass. The Park Slope Parents harvest fest, was a highlight of the season. On one of the windiest days of the year the quartet played the Brooklyn Public Libraries' "Family Day" everyone had a blustery good time. They also played the farmers market every week of October and November. The Okee Dokee Brothers and Gabby La La both played fabulous sets during dinner shows at The Perch Cafe.

2011 brought some amazing RPG concerts. Highlights include: The Bell House, Ft. Greene Park, JJ Byrne Park weekly series, Providence Children's Museum, Brookline Music School, The Discovery Museum, & The Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  The trio spent the second half of the year gigging and recording their first cover album.

2012 began a new chapter of the guacamole's.   NYC drummer Peter Barr joined the band January 8th.  Raccoony & Bird Belly, puppets developed for the RPG show by Morgan Street, made their first public appearance Feb 26th at Little Field in Brooklyn, at the Houses Of The Moly cd release party.  The music video for Red Light Green Light along with Miriam Rayevskys second RPG stop motion film for "Swim Like The Dolphin" were also premiered.  After a spring Midwest tour the band switched up their sound by adding and electric guitar to the mix. The summer was action packed with regular trips to New England, concerts at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, JJ Byrne & Ft. Greene Park.
